Sweet, Spicy and Savory Sweet Potato Oven Fries

Sweet potato fries are all the rage and it’s no wonder! They are a tasty, yet healthier alternative to french fries, especially when they are baked in the oven like this recipe. Your family will love these sweet, spicy and savory sweet potato oven fries. Feel free to experiment with the spices and seasonings to suit your own taste!

sweet potato oven fries2 to 3 large sweet potatoes
Watkins Cooking spray
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon Watkins sea salt
½ teaspoon Watkins ground red pepper
¼ teaspoon Watkins granulated black pepper or 1/2 teaspoon Watkins onion and garlic pepper

Preheat your oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into strips of equal thickness. Tip, try to cut the potato into pieces of equal size and thickness to ensure they’ll bake evenly. Place the sweet potatoes to a bowl and then add the remaining ingredients. Toss the ingredients to ensure the potato strips are well coated with the seasonings.

Place the sweet potatoes on a baking sheet in a single layer without overlapping them. Bake for about 10 minutes. When the first 10 minutes are over, remove the pan from the oven and carefully flip the sweet potato fries. Return the pan with the potatoes back into the oven for another 10 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are browned and tender.

This recipe makes two generous servings. I recommend Watkins spices and pantry essentials.
