Cucumber Cooler

Juicing is all the rage, it’s a quick way to get the nutrients from fruits and vegetables without eating a big meal. This cucumber cooler is refreshingly tasty thanks to the cucumbers and the addition of sweet carrots. Carrot juice is our absolute favorite, we are lucky to have access to locally grown organic carrots. 

Cucumber Cooler

Ingredients

  • Half a large cucumber, halved lengthways
  • 3 carrots, peeled
  • 3 celery stalks, tops trimmed off
  • Optional, 1 apple

Directions

  1. Wash and prepare vegetables. Juice according to your juicer instructions and enjoy!

Tip: Vegetable juices are great for overall health, choose organic or fresh locally grown if possible. At first it takes a little time to get used to the taste, but eventually you’ll get there…. Just think of all those health benefits! Another tip is to juice an apple along with your veggies or mix your vegetable juice with a little natural apple juice to give it a sweeter taste.

  • Cucumbers are a strong diuretic and may help lower blood pressure. Perfect for when you’re retaining water.
  • Celery contains compounds called pthalides which helps regular blood pressure. Also a good diuretic.
  • Carrots are great for the skin and eyes.

What can you do with the leftover pulp? Add it to your compost!
